Vacation???

So picture this: Kirk goes out of town for 10 days and 6 of those days I go stay with a friend. This friend has 3 kids. 2 girls and one boy. The girls are Keelyn and Kiersten's age. (so 4 and 2) Here is the thing... It was the closest thing to a vacation that I have had in years! The Girls all got along so well that we just hung out and had adult conversation. They didn't need us at all... basically we were there to feed them and the rest of the time they played sweetly. You don't believe me??? It is crazy but true. We never would have thought they would last that long but what do you know... they did. So needless to say, I am rested and in a good mood and Kirk has been gone for 8 days! This was by far the easiest week in a long time. LOVE IT!

Time to learn again

Okay so, why is it that I am 27 years old and just now eager to learn? I remember a time when I was eager to learn, up until about fourth grade, and then it went away. Could it be that it was the method in which I was taught from fourth grade on. Kirk and I have been researching the classical method of homeschooling. The more that I think about homeschooling my children in this way, the more excited I become to learn again. Both of my girls are incredibly bright. Keelyn is reading and doing math at a first grade level . . . she's four. Kiersten knows all of her colors, shapes, the abc's and the sounds each letter makes . . . she's two. They are to say the least teachable. I recently sat down and did my calender for homeschooling Keelyn this next year. I am going from June 1st through May 31st, with a few breaks here and there. I am very thankful that I have an eagerness to learn again, because I am going to need it.
